[analog-help] Low counts in Analog for successful requests
forpages

I appreciate your insights. I am not exactly a webtrends power user. I
have it configured to count only these types of files as pages: cfm,
cfml, htm, html, xml. This suggests that it is not counting .js or .css
files as pages, no? Yet when I look at the most downloaded files or top
entry pages, I do see a lot of URLs with .js or .css there. I am not
sure what this all tells me.
Would you have a minute to look at this Analog config file and see if
anything stands out to you, please? If not, I certainly understand.
Thanks
Richard

There can be lots of reasons for the discrepancy, but the simple
explanation is that you're not measuring the same thing. Without a lot
more information about exactly what assumptions were made, the most
obvious source of differences is that your Administrator excluded hits
from specific IP addresses (a monitoring service, or internal users), or
hits to specific pages or parts of the website.
It's also likely that one of you is counting .css or .js scripts that
the other isn't, or even that one of you is counting image hits, and the
other isn't.
(That and the fact that Webtrends numbers never seem to exactly match
what's in the log files. The one thing that you can be very sure of is
that Analogs counts are extremely reliable).
