Adrian or Jeremy,
Are there step-by-step instructions somewhere on how to do what you suggest
with session cookies? I am new to analog.
Thanks!
Orion

Webalizer's"Visits"
See http://analog.cx/docs/webworks.html for reasons why Analog does not
count visits. If you have something in your log files (like session cookies)
that count visits then Analog can count those cookies. Usually you would do
this by creating a custom log format where you assign the session cookie to
the user data in Analog and then enable the User Report (USER ON).

Subject: [analog-help] Question about Analog's data vs. Webalizer's "Visits"
Anyone,
I am a new Analog user, and have been searching the FAQs and other places
for the answer to this question.
I am trying to get data from Analog that can compare with the "Visits" I
used to get from Webalizer, so I can estimate a "conversion" to web orders
on my website.
Looking at the Analog report headings:
Number of requests
Number of page requests
it seems that the ratio of "Number of page requests" to "Number of requests"
(about 25%), is about the same as the ratio of Webalizer "Visits" to "Hits"
that I saw previously using Webalizer.
Therefore, I plan to use the "Number of page requests" as a proxy for the
"Visits" I previously used from Webalizer, for comparison purposes.
Does this make sense, or is there something I can do that is better?
Thanks!
Orion
